Twelve Earn MLA Consumer Health Specialization by Grace Di Virgilio

Twelve people completed the HLSP/WNYLRC-sponsored Medical Library Association's Consumer Health Information Specialization Program. By attending classes offered at WNYLRC and through an application process, participants earned Level I Designation. Classes included: Government Resources in Consumer Health; Beyond an Apple a Day: Providing Consumer Health Information at Your Library; and Will Duct Tape Cure My Warts?  Examining Complementary and Alternative Medicine. The designation runs from November 1, 2009 to October 31, 2012. Feedback from the program was positive and participants gained insight and knowledge in providing consumer health information and locating appropriate resources.
