If you were not among the fortunate to have attended WNYLRC's IT Security for Libraries workshop on Friday, September 9th given by Blake Carver, New York Power Authority librarian and security guru, you still have an opportunity to learn. Blake has written a series of essays on this subject at www.lisnews.org/security and you actually have an obligation if you are in a library to absorb some of this knowledge and you'd be wise to follow his advice in your personal internet and social media wanderings. The openings are ever widening for the legions of disreputable souls trolling the internet to rob you of what you hold dear–your privacy.
